The Human Heart

HUMAN EVOLUTION CREATED the rib cage in order to protect the soft and vital heart, the most important of organs. But it could not predict that the heart would need more than a cage of bones to protect itself.

There are things in this world that can kill a heart, turn it black and blue, or die like a bird frozen dead in the night. These things are done without violence, but quietly.

Even the purest and strongest of hearts can die from disappointments and dreams killed.

In such matters, the rib cage is as impotent as an armour of lace.
